Flying Saucers from Other Worlds
The original title of Ray Palmer's Flying Saucers magazine
History
Flying Saucers from Other Worlds launched in June 1957 as Ray Palmer's return to UFO publishing after his departure from FATE Magazine. The full title lasted approximately one year before being shortened to simply Flying Saucers, which continued publication until 1976.
The first issues ran close to 100 pages and were distributed nationally through newsstands. Palmer brought his established readership from FATE and his science fiction magazine days, giving the new publication an immediate audience that most UFO newsletters could only envy. The content mixed sighting reports, contactee narratives, and Palmer's characteristically combative editorial commentary.
