George Knapp
George Knapp is an investigative journalist based in Las Vegas, Nevada, who has covered UFO and anomalous phenomena stories for over three decades, primarily through KLAS-TV (CBS affiliate) and as a frequent host of Coast to Coast AM radio.
Knapp conducted the first interviews with Bob Lazar in 1989, bringing the Area 51/S-4 claims to public attention. He subsequently investigated Skinwalker Ranch in Utah, co-authoring Hunt for the Skinwalker (2005) with biochemist Colm Kelleher, which documented the National Institute for Discovery Science (NIDS) investigation of the property funded by Robert Bigelow.
Knapp's reporting contributed to public awareness of the Advanced Aerospace Weapon System Applications Program (AAWSAP) and its connection to Bigelow Aerospace Advanced Space Studies (BAASS). He obtained and reported on the Defence Intelligence Agency's involvement in funding research into UAP-related phenomena.
He has won multiple Emmy and Edward R. Murrow awards for investigative journalism on non-UFO topics, including organised crime and government corruption. His UFO reporting follows the same source-based investigative methodology, relying on documents, named witnesses, and institutional records. He co-authored Skinwalkers at the Pentagon (2021) with James Lacatski and Colm Kelleher, detailing the AAWSAP programme's origins and findings.
