Tim Gallaudet
Tim Gallaudet is a retired U.S. Navy Rear Admiral and oceanographer who served as Acting Administrator of the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA) in 2017 to 2019. Since retirement, he has become one of the most senior former military officials to publicly advocate for transparency on UAP.
Gallaudet has stated that during his Navy career he became aware of UAP encounters involving Navy personnel and sensor systems. He has called for systematic scientific investigation of transmedium phenomena (objects observed moving between air and water) and has criticised what he describes as institutional resistance to treating UAP as a legitimate subject of inquiry.
He joined the Sol Foundation's advisory board in 2023 and has spoken at its symposia. He has also appeared before congressional staff and in public forums arguing that oceanographic agencies should be included in UAP investigation frameworks, given the frequency of reported transmedium events over water.
Gallaudet holds a PhD in oceanography from Scripps Institution of Oceanography and served in multiple command and staff positions during his Navy career, including as commander of the Naval Meteorology and Oceanography Command.
