Creature Chronicles was an American periodical published during the 1980s, covering cryptozoological phenomena alongside UFO research. The publication reported on creature sightings, provided investigation tips, and tracked media coverage of anomalous encounters. Its content bridged the gap between ufology and cryptozoology, reflecting the 1980s trend of treating these fields as interconnected areas of anomaly research.
The UFO-Cryptid Crossover
During the 1980s, a growing number of field investigators worked both UFO and creature cases. Witnesses in some incidents reported both phenomena together: lights in the sky above areas where Bigfoot-type creatures had been seen, or entity encounters that defied clean categorisation as either extraterrestrial contact or cryptid sighting. Creature Chronicles was one of the few publications that treated this crossover as a legitimate area of study rather than an embarrassment to be explained away.
