Jon T. Kosloski

Director 路 AARO (in post) PhD Electrical Engineering Former NSA Research Directorate 馃嚭馃嚫 United States

Bio

Jon T. Kosloski is the current Director of the All-domain Anomaly Resolution Office (AARO), appointed on 26 August 2024 on detail from the National Security Agency. He succeeded Acting Director Tim Phillips, who continued as Deputy Director under Kosloski until July 2025. Kosloski holds undergraduate degrees in mathematics and physics from California State University, San Bernardino, and a PhD in electrical engineering from Johns Hopkins University.

Prior to AARO, Kosloski held technical and leadership positions within the Research Directorate of the National Security Agency, where he led advanced networking and computing mission-oriented research, served as a free-space-optics expert, and provided technical advice to multiple Department of Defense agencies.

On UAP

Kosloski's public position since taking the AARO directorship has been measured. AARO under his leadership has continued the formal investigative methodology established under his predecessor Sean Kirkpatrick, with the office position remaining that no verifiable evidence of extraterrestrial activity or technology has yet been identified in the body of cases under review. AARO publishes annual reports to Congress, makes case-resolution data available in the FY24 Consolidated Annual Report on UAP, and continues to accept new reports through its established intake channel.

Kosloski's predecessor in the deputy role, Tim Phillips, gave a series of public interviews in 2025 that diverged substantively from the AARO formal position. Kosloski has not publicly addressed the Phillips disclosures or the circumstances of Phillips's July 2025 termination by ODNI.

Notable Public Statements

"AARO has not discovered any verifiable evidence of extraterrestrial activity, off-world technology, or objects that defy the known laws of physics."

SASC Open Hearing Statement for the Record 路 November 2024

"AARO continues to take all reports seriously, to apply rigorous scientific methodology, and to follow the data where it leads. The vast majority of cases AARO investigates resolve to mundane objects upon analysis."
