Michael Shellenberger is the founder of Public, the independent investigative journalism platform on Substack. Time Magazine Hero of the Environment 2008, author of Apocalypse Never (2020) and San Fransicko (2021), both New York Times bestsellers.
In November 2024 he placed a written statement before the House Task Force on the Declassification of Federal Secrets concerning what he reported, on the basis of a confidential intelligence-community source, as the existence of an unacknowledged special access programme designated Immaculate Constellation. He provided sworn testimony at the 13 November 2024 hearing alongside David Grusch, Luis Elizondo and Tim Gallaudet.
