The Condon Committee was deep into its controversial study at the University of Colorado, and reports were accelerating worldwide. This issue opened with cases from the Canadian prairies and ran south through the American midwest to Brazil, covering a range of encounters from police-witnessed discs to a boy burned by an unknown aerial object in Alabama.

More than 17 people reported to RCAF and RCMP concerning their experiences. First sighted at about 6:45 PM, the object or objects remained visible in various parts of the town until about 3 AM the next morning. Multiple independent witnesses described flashing white lights over Assiniboia Downs, red and green lights in telescope, and a 'silver-colored something' between the lights.

Four teenagers reported a disc-shaped object at 9:20 PM while driving on a country road two miles southeast of Lumsden. Described as about 40 feet in diameter, 10 feet high, lens-shaped like 'two saucers joined lip to lip.' Brilliant red with a darker red or black band across the center. Object headed north toward Lumsden at an 'ambling pace' and disappeared into a wooded ravine.

At about 7:20 PM, about 200 residents of Redlands either saw or heard a huge low-flying disc-shaped object. At least one recording was made of the sound. Descriptions forwarded to APRO indicate the object was very much like that seen by Rev. Father William Gill in New Guinea in June 1959, although no occupants were seen.

A metallic-appearing disc-shaped object was observed over West Kootenay during the lunch hour. Sixteen people including two Royal Canadian Mounted Police watched the object for about an hour, after which it moved rapidly into the west and disappeared. Walter Jackson said he spotted the object at about noon and it looked like a dinner plate.

Finch was driving along a deeply rutted red clay road outside of Wilmer when he rounded a curve and saw a globe-shaped object hovering over the intersection. He brought his car to a stop at the edge of the road.

A night watchman at a micro-wave station described a large bright greenish object which he saw after being startled awake by a loud blast in the area. Two other watchmen at Verissimo and Harmonia gave similar descriptions of similar objects seen at about the same time. The greenish object turned yellow and orange and eventually disappeared.

At 11 PM, Wrinkle and guests saw flaming debris falling from the sky near a stubble field 200 feet from the Old Pendleton Highway. Witnessed the slow descent of 7-8 objects on fire that fell behind a bluff. A muffled explosion was heard. At the site, a hole approximately 3 feet across and 1 foot deep was discovered with dry powdery earth. Strange odor lingered for more than a week.

Two schoolboys reported observing a hovering object which made no sound at about 8:55 PM. They spotted an oval-shaped object with flashing red lights hovering at what they estimated to be about 35 feet above the ground. 'We were only about 25 yards away from it and we watched for about 10 to 15 minutes.
