September-October 1968
September and October 1968 saw an extraordinary concentration of sightings in the Mendoza province of Argentina, with multiple independent witnesses reporting structured craft, humanoid occupants, and physical effects. The wave caught the attention of the Argentine press and military, and APRO's Buenos Aires representative filed detailed case reports.
Sighting Reports
About a dozen individuals reported observing a bright reddish light which made a humming sound and had flashing lights. Observation lasted approximately 20 minutes. Object followed a course along the valley of the Allegheny River for a total of about 5 miles until it went out of sight.

The object stopped about 50 metres from the ground. Marks were found on the side and running board of the car.
View on map · View in databaseAt 4:30 PM, four boys on the Cornwallis River dyke observed a disc-shaped object, bluish in colour, hovering about 100 feet above the river. They ran to a point where they could get about 4 feet from the object and watched it for about 10 minutes until it moved toward the water. It dipped below and moved along with the current. The object appeared to be oscillating like a spinning top.
View on map · View in databaseAt 7:30 PM during evening rush hour, a triangular-shaped object was sighted through the skies over Madrid. It was visible to many. The US space tracking facility at Robledo, Spain, confirmed the object was definitely not an American satellite. The Spanish weather bureau denied it was one of their meteorological balloons. Various authorities tried to account for the object.

Described as dome-shaped with a flat bottom, orange and red in colour. Son first spotted it in the north at 7 PM. Movement barely describable without binoculars (10x40). At about 8 PM, object was just off the highway to the east.
View on map · View in databaseA local policeman and a controller/tower operator at Toronto International Airport sighted an object covered with white lights and with green and orange flashing lights on top. About 1,000 feet above the surface of the water, about a mile from the Oakville lake shore. Although the object did not register on radar, it was seen by flight controllers.

At approximately 1:10 PM, children were playing about 500 metres from where they saw the object on the ground, shaped by a big tripod with a ladder extending from the object to the ground underneath. The object took off, retracting the tripod ladder as it rose.
View on map · View in databaseFour witnesses observed a hat-shaped object with two pole-like protrusions on the brim and flames issuing from the bottom. Observed with naked eye and 15x60 power binoculars. Object's trajectory was toward the northwest, then it appeared to reverse course, stopped.
